June 2010 Update

Dear Friends and Family
We hope this update finds you all well, enjoying your summer. We are continuing to gear up for our big move in August. We can see God going before us and providing for us in so many ways. It has been such a blessing and encouragement for us to know that the God of the universe not only cares about the details of our lives, but He is actively involved in our lives as well.

Jenna's Dedication
On May 30th we had Jenna's baby dedication at our church. It was a sweet time and Jason's parents and Coralee's sister and her family were all able to attend. We were so happy to be able to do this before we left for missionary training.

Jason's Trip To Guatemala
On June 5th Jason went on a mission trip to Guatemala with the high school seniors at our church. Praise God for a great trip. Jason's main job was to repair all of the computers that are used to educate children in the Feeding God's Children program. He was able to repair 90% of the computers, train a Guatemalan college student to maintain the computers and he was also able to get to know people in our sister church down there. It was such a blessing to get involved with our home church in this way, and see the amazing ministries in Guatemala first hand.

A Home For Cali
We are so thankful and happy to announce that our dog Cali has a new home! God provided above and beyond our expectations. A young couple in our church were looking to get another dog specifically a Chocolate Lab. They are already spoiling her and have taken her swimming in the lake. We will miss Cali and Jenna will miss chasing her in her walker but we are so thankful she is in good hands. Thanks Josh and Erin!

Our Visit To Alabama
We were able to visit Jason's family in Alabama this month also. We really enjoyed our time with them and Jenna sure enjoyed her Grandpa and Grandma. Jason's parents have been so gracious to let us store our stuff in their garage while we are in missionary training. While we were down there we were able to build shelves along one side of the garage to store everything on.

Praise & Prayer
  • Praise God for providing a great home for our dog by the end of June!
  • Praise God for providing for all of our moving expenses!
  • Praise God that we are now at 55% of our monthly support.
  • Praise God for giving us safe travels thus far this summer.
  • Pray that God would provide good renters to rent our home.
  • Pray for continued safe travels.
  • Pray that Jenna would do well during all the moving and disruption.
  • Pray that during this time of transition we would keep our relationship with the Lord number one.
Thank you all so much for the part you are playing to help reaching people in Africa with the gospel. We are so grateful for each one of you, and are blessed to have you along side us as we move forward. We hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July.

Until All Have Heard,

Jason, Coralee & Jenna Garro

May 2010 Update
Its hard to believe that we have less then 3 months before we move to Missouri for missionary training. The time seems to be going faster and faster.

Introduction at Our Home Church
On April 25th we had the opportunity to share what God has laid on our hearts with our home church here in Tennessee. We were overwhelmed with the support and excitement we felt from so many. It is such an encouragement to have our home church standing with us as we prepare for church planting in Africa.

Jason Graduates With His Masters
On May 14th Jason Graduated with his Master of Arts in Teaching in ESL from Carson Newman College. It was really fun to have Jason's parents there for the graduation ceremony.

Jason's Last Day of Work
Tuesday, May 25 was Jason's last day teaching at Loudon Elementary. Jason really enjoyed the 3 years he was able to teach in Loudon, and has some great memories of the students and staff there. Although we are really excited about what God has in store for us, goodbyes are always hard.

Praise & Prayer
  • Praise God for His faithfulness in bringing other believers to serve along side us in reaching Muslims in Africa.
  • Praise God for His provision of finances for us to attend missionary training. We now have 100% of our tuition expenses covered!
  • Pray that the Lord would provide the remainder of our monthly support. We are currently at 38% of our needed monthly support.
  • Pray for safe travels throughout the summer.
  • Pray that we would find a home for our dog by the end of June.

April Update

The Count Down Is On
It is hard to believe that we only have 4 months before we leave for Missionary Training in Camdenton, MO. Our official move date is August 16th and classes begin on August 23rd. We are excited to begin learning the necessary skills for reaching a tribal group in Africa with the gospel.

Our Home Church
On April 25th we will have the opportunity to share what God has laid on our hearts with our home church in Knoxville, TN. We are so thankful for Two Rivers Church and the relationships we have there. We look forward to sharing our hearts with the congregation and including them on this journey.

Financial Partnership
We know that God has not called us to move forward alone. You can be apart of impacting lives for eternity by investing in this ministry financially. If the Holy Spirit is prompting you to join this ministry, financial gifts can be sent to:

New Tribes Mission
1000 E. First Street
Sanford, FL 32771

(Checks can be made out to New Tribes Mission, include "Jason Garro MTC" on the memo line)

Our Roof
We are so thankful to have our new roof completed! Woo Hoo! A great group of high schoolers and men from our church came to help. We are so grateful for the time and hard work they put in to help us. We could not have done it alone. Thanks to all of you!

Family News
We were able to go to Florida to visit Coralee's parents for Easter. We had a great time with them and so did Jenna. The weather was great and Jenna got to go to the beach for the first time. We sure are enjoying all of her sweet expressions.

Praise & Prayer
  • Praise God our roof is completed. It didn't rain and there were no injuries.
  • Praise God for the team He is building for this Ministry.
  • Praise God for safe travels over Spring Break.
  • Pray that we would find a good home for our dog Cali by the end of June.
  • Pray that we will be able to raise the remainder of the funds needed to attend training.
  • Pray that God would raise up people to partner with us both in prayer and financially.
  • Pray for discernment as we begin to get rid of things and pack.

Blessings to each and every one of you, who have encouraged us, prayed for us and given financially. We appreciate your sacrifice and are so grateful to have you on the team.

Change of Plans & New Addition!

As many of you have experienced our timing is not always God's timing. As we have pursued missions the Lord has been faithful to reveal His timing to us. We had planned to go into missionary training with New Tribes Mission this August 2009. However, the Lord has directed us through circumstances we could not control and through our Pastor to remain in Knoxville, TN for one more year. At first it was difficult to shift gears but we are confident we are exactly where the Lord wants us to be. We are excited to get the opportunity to become more involved in our church this next year and we are ecstatic to be welcoming a new addition to our family while we are still home in Knoxville.

Coralee is expecting our first child December 4, 2009. We recently found out we are having a little girl and we couldn't be happier.

We are also enrolled to attend New Tribes Missionary Training next August 2010. Although it isn't what we had planned we are so excited to see the Lord directing our steps.

Prayer Requests:
-For Coralee to have a healthy pregnancy.
-For a smooth delivery and healthy baby girl.
-That the Lord would guide us to the ministries he wants us to be involved in, in our church this year.
-That throughout the year we would be able to raise the funds needed for missionary training.
-That we would continue to grow in our walks with the Lord as we seek his guidance for the future.
